NV Juillet-Lallement Brut Selection Grand Cru
Champagne, France
100% Pinot Noir. The Juillet-Lallement estate is located in the heart of the Montagne de Reims in Verzy, in a very pretty, typically Champagne village is known for its exceptional forest and its twisted beech trees. They farm a little over 4 hectares, spread over two terroirs, Verzy and Sillery, both classified as 100% Grand Cru. The average age of their parcels is 40 years, and the earliest record of their oldest parcel was planted in 1949 by one of their ancestors, Arthur Lallement. This wine takes on more of the classic character of the region: generosity of fruit, fleshy, creamy and a little toasty. Peach, apricot, mango and ripe lemon flavors all over the place with a kiss of sweetness (8 G/L dosage) and a smidge of toasty butter pastry on the finish.
