NV Forget-Brimont Brut Rosé 1er Cru

Champagne, France

This is a Pinot Noir-dominated blend from 6th Generation Champenoise Michel Forget's 1er Cru vineyards in Chigny les Roses, Coulommes la Montagne, Ludes, Montbre, Sermiers, Taissy and Villers-Allerand. Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier round out the blend (which changes from year to year). Aged for three years on the lees. It contains 40% reserve wine, and it gets its color from just 5% of intense Verzenay rouge (still red wine). The Champagne has a nice light salmon color and a creamy, sourdough character with just the right amount of subtle strawberry fruit. This elegant Champagne is wonderful on its own and will also pair well with salmon, mushroom dishes, smoked fish and charcuterie.
