NV 'Crazy Joe' Cabernet Sauvignon
California
Have any of you tasted our “Crazy Joe Red” yet?? It was our first foray into creating our very own wine. We had a lot of fun tasting and coming up with the final blend. The label, I had nothing to do with…That was so much fun and we were so happy with the end result that we decided to try our hand at it again, this time with a Cab. This time, we reached out to our friend and colleague, Jason, who put us in touch with a new winemaker. With his help, we, once again, eventually came up with a wine of which we are very proud. Yes, we tried various combinations and percentages until we came up with a blend that we were ALL “crazy” about. It’s actually got some juice from a couple different vintages and from several fruit sources in the North Coast appellation, which is why is doesn’t carry a vintage designation nor does it have any specific appellation listed on the label. Speaking of which, it was the two Joes that collaborated on the label…again, I had no input…which is fine. Does it remind you of anyone?? All joking aside, we are very proud of this delicious, crowd-pleasing Cab and hope you enjoy it too. We wanted to make it fun and dispense with most of the “formalities” that can sometimes take the joy out of drinking wine. We think this is a great wine for the money…
A hand-crafted blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Ruby Cabernet from Lodi, Mendocino and the cooler areas of the Central Valley. A portion of the blend was aged in used French and American barrels, which added a gentle touch of oak and soft spice.
A dense plum/ruby color is followed by a wine with serious ripeness, supple, velvety tannins, abundant black currant, cedar and spice box notes, medium-bodied flavors and surprising texture and length.
