2021 Château Ducasse Blanc

2021 Château Ducasse Blanc
Bordeaux, France

This Bordeaux Blanc  is very different from others from their appellations: Hervé blends a high proportion of Sémillon (60%) and a splash of Muscadelle (5%) with Sauvignon Blanc (35%), from vines ranging in age from 45-48 years, creating a rich, full, aromatic mid-palate to complement the clean finish. This is the perfect go-to white to pair well with anything from fish to poultry, picnic fare to Indian curries.

Tasting Notes
Lively, clean, fun and refreshing, this blend has bright flavors of citrus and white peach, with good acidity and hints of minerals on the long finish. Light to medium bodied and very food friendly.

About Château Ducasse
Hervé Dubourdieu owns Château Graville-Lacoste and Château Ducasse, where he grows grapes for his Graves Blanc and Bordeaux Blanc, respectively.  The Graville-Lacoste property produces a Graves Blanc, known primarily for its stony soil composition and fresh minerality.

Thirty-two of the Château’s eighty hectares are consecrated to terraced vineyard land with south-southeast sun exposure, on clay and limestone soils. This is unique terroir. Garrigue, the aromatic scrub brush that dominates the landscapes of the South, asserts its presence among these vines. Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre, the noble varietals that Jack Boutin planted here years ago, make up the reds.
