2020 VMC Red Blend '20.1'
This is a unique blend of 80% Petite Sirah and 20% Montepulciano. Petite Sirah, also known as Durif, is a Rhône grape that loves sun, perfect for the warmth of Brentwood, and is known for its high tannins and acidity. Montepulciano, one of Italy’s most planted grapes, also contributes high tannins due to its thick skins. The fruit was harvested on August 26th, 2020 and spent 9 months in 40% new oak barrels.
Enjoy this inky dark powerful and savory red wine that features dense blackberry and black plum fruit with high toned floral notes on the nose and the palate. Its vanilla and smoky notes are complemented by a lovely balance of fruit and acidity as well as robust tannins.
Enjoy with hearty, savory dishes, such as beef brisket, hamburgers, beef bolognese, tagliatelle, ragu, and high-protein pizzas. It’s also a great option for grill enthusiasts, pairing well with smoked or barbecued meats.
