2021 Château Calabre Montravel Blanc
Montravel, France
We don’t know how he does it, but Daniel Hecquet makes some amazing wine and their prices are crazy! For his Calabre white, Daniel blends 3 varieties commonly used to make white Bordeaux: Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle, not surprising given that the winery is located in Montravel, which sits just above Bordeaux’s northeastern border. His deft touch results in a truly refreshing white wine long on complexity. Give this a try with a salad with chevre.
