2019 Red Stitch Pinot Noir 'Rosella's Vineyard'
Santa Lucia Highlands, California
100% Pinot Noir from the famous Rosella’s Vineyard, named for owner Gary Franscioni’s wife (yes, he is one of the two Garys!). This brooding beauty brings to mind a polished garnet gemstone with its facets and depth. Sultry notes of black cherry, sage and slightly smoked meat delight the senses. Layers of cherry cola, raspberry, and cedarwood join seamlessly with sun-ripened tannins to create a wine that can be enjoyed in its youth or shared for years to come. Founded by former Giants players and wine lovers Rich Aurilia and Dave Roberts (whose wife is a sommelier!). The wines are made by legend Roland Herrera, known for his time at Stag’s Leap Cellars, Paul Hobbs, and his own project, Mi Sueño.
92 points, Wine Enthusiast. "Dark aromas of roasted berry are lifted by vanilla and caramel cream on the lavish nose of this bottling. The palate is very bold and rich, grabbing attention with cherry and strawberry flavors as well as ample mace and other brown spices."
