2019 Le Triolet Petite Arvine
Valle d'Aosta, Italy
100% Petite Arvine, grown organically on sandy soils of morainic origin. Hand harvested, the fruit sees a brief maceration on the skins and ages sur lie in temperature-controlled stainless steel for 8 months prior to bottling.
92 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. "The Lo Triolet Vallée d'Aoste Petite Arvine opens to a luminous off-gold color, and the wine wears a little more weight on its lean frame. The bouquet is peachy and fruity with ample background notes of honey and even a touch of cumin or coriander spice. It fills out nicely on the palate with broad, sweeping intensity. That extra power might pair well with a local potato side dish of patate campagnarde, made with thinly sliced onions and laurel leaves."
91 points, Antonio Galloni's Vinous. "Golden yellow. Banana, tropical fruit and custard cream on the nose and in the mouth. Long, lovely and spicy, this closes with fresh ripe citrus notes (tangerine and orange). The plants come partly from Switzerland and partly from the immediate area. Stays on the skins for three or four hours in temperature-controlled tanks, and ages in stainless steel. About 5,000 bottles a year."
