2019 ENA Wines Pinot Noir 'Mariah Vineyard'
Mendocino Ridge, California
100% organic, dry farmed Pinot Noir. This debut vintage of Pinot Noir is the second offering from winemakers Eglantine Chauffour (from Provence) and Alberto Bianchi (from Milan). The Mariah Vineyard sits 5 miles from the ocean above the fog line at 2600 feet, allowing the grapes to get the mid-day sun. Both red and black cherry, red roses, and red currants appear on the nose with a soft texture and opulent plushness. The acidity is juicy and full of life, giving the wine ample structure for short term aging. Manages to maintain a blance between freshness, plush texture and juicy fruit. 194 cases made. 20% whole cluster, native yeast fermentation, 9 months in neutral French oak. 13% alcohol.
