CEP is the second label of Peay Vineyards- but don't be fooled! It's made from 100% Pinot Noir organically grown on Peay's estate vineyards. Peay chooses which barrels go into their flagship wines by blind tasting barrel samples- everything that doesn't get chosen goes into these CEP wines, meaning it is grown and vinified with the intention of being bottled as Peay's estate label. Hand harvested and made with 5% whole clusters, this is aged in old, neutral French barrique before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. 950 cases were produced. 13.4% alcohol. The nose is really expressive with pretty, high-toned floral and more subtle black tea aromas. The light to medium-bodied palate offers vibrant, but not too ripe, flavors of fresh strawberry and raspberry and the wine finishes with excellent acidity. It is a perfectly balanced wine showing a nice round mouth feel without being rich or too dense and instead is light, bright and simply delicious.

93 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. "The 2019 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is classically styled, with bright red and black berry fruits on the nose, accented by notes of citrus peel, earth and dried flowers. The light-bodied palate is silky, fresh and immediately approachable, finishing on a pleasant citrusy note. 1,300 cases produced."

Dark cherry, plum, lavender and spice are nicely pushed forward in this racy, succulent Pinot Noir. Silky and vibrant, the 2019 conveys all the energy of the year so well. All the elements come together in a stellar appellation-level Chardonnay from Peay."
