2019 As Laxas Albariño
Rías Baixas, Spain
100% Albariño. Vines average over 30 years old. Grapes are hand-harvested. Wine is fermented and aged in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.
Tasting Notes: Green apple, nectarine and lemon zest aromas show very good clarity and pick up subtle floral and mineral nuances with air. Silky and focused on the palate, offering lively orchard and pit fruit flavors and a hint of bitter lime zest. Nicely concentrated but nervy as well, showing strong, mineral-tinged persistence and repeating florality.
Winery Notes: Family owned and operated since 1862 located in the Condado do Tea subregion of the Rías Baixas DO. The estate vineyards are terraced with a southern exposure overlooking the Mino River, that separates Spain from the northern border of Portugal. Bodegas As Laxas was one of the first 5 bodegas in the region to be awarded the status of D.O. and remains a leader of innovation in winemaking to this day.
