2018 Von Winning Riesling Deideheimer Leinhohle Trocken
Words cannot express...this is a truly LOVELY example of dry Riesling. Formerly a Grosses Gewachs (or Grand Cru) vineyard, it's now officially an Erste Lage (Premier Cru) site. This wine possesses all of Riesling's finest attributes - depth, clarity, precision, and exceptional complexity. Single vineyard. Biodynamic/organic farming. Fermented in large (1200L) neutral oak barrels. Native yeasts.
Tasting Notes: "Apple, sweet corn and pungent roux on the nose reconvene on a relatively loose but pleasantly polished palate. Brightness of lemon juice and piquancy of fruit seeds serve to enliven and stimulate on a mouthwateringly salt-tinged finish." Vinous Media
Winery Notes: The fact that this estate is crafting some of the very best dry wines in Germany is no fluke, rather a result of nearly obsessive winemaker Stephan Attman’s commitment to both dedicated cultivation of Deidesheim and Forst’s best sites and meticulous work in the cellar.
