2018 Quixote Petite Sirah 'Panza'
Napa Valley, California
100% organic Petite Sirah aged for 20 months in custom French oak. Super full bodied, with notes of black tea, black and blue fruits with a whisper of tobacco. Tannins are soft up front but build quickly revealing a dense, massive structure. The dark inky appearance makes this wine a showstopper that can age 20+ years. Quixote is considered to be the top producer of Petite Sirah in the county. Production is TINY – only about 2000 cases total and they’ve had a “who’s who” of consultants involved in making the wine, such as David Ramey, Aaron Pott and Phillip Melka. Quixote does not sell any of their grapes nor do they purchase grapes- everything is estate.
