2019 Fonzone Greco di Tufo DOCG
Campania, Italy
Comes from a vineyard planted in 1994 in Santa Paolina, bred espalier along steep slopes located at 500 m above sea level. The microclimate, the clayey-sandy and the low yields deliver to the grapes exclusive characters that, when harvesting, show a characteristic goldenrod color. The grapes are hand-picked and carefully transported to the winery in small perforated crates, then are selected and softly pressed. The fermentation is carried out at low temperature and lasts for about a month. The wine is aged in stainless steel for five months, with periodical bâtonnage.
Tasting Notes: Deep golden yellow color. It has perfumed notes of orange blossom, grapefruit peel and pineapple. The taste is soft, juicy, with a long finish that reveals, in retro-nasal, pleasant sensations of dried apricot.
