2018 Annesanti Acqua Della Serpa
Francesco Annesanti is a passionate and artistic man who makes pure natural wines- practicing organic farming, using only native yeasts, stainless steel for fermentation and aging, minimal sulfur and no fining or filtration. A blend of Grechetto, Malvasia, Pecorino, Trebbiano and other local grapes, with skin maceration and aging on the skins for ten months in amphora. This is perhaps the cleanest “natural orange wine” we have tasted, which is a testament to Francesco’s winemaking skills. Beautifully fresh on the nose, with loads of white peach, melon and ripe grapefruit aromas.
The fruit feels really pure, well defined and quite upfront. There’s an attractive salinity/minerality to the finish, and the lightest hint of phenolics.
