2017 Zorzettig Friulano
Friuli, Italy
The estate was founded over a century ago when the Zorzettig family acquired the Tenuta Casali Pasch estate recognizing it as the ideal location to grow Tocai Friulano – now called Friulano. Now, under the guidance of Annalisa, a dynamic, passionate and tireless visionary and matriarch, the winery has been on an upward trajectory over the past several years. Annalisa has managed the upgrading of the vineyards, the winery and the winemaking team in her efforts to make the best possible wines from her prime vineyards, to honor her family and the region. 100% Friulano from 7-30 year-old vines on marl and sandstone. Hand-harvested, soft-pressed, and fermented and aged in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Bright straw yellow. Floral and linear on the nose, offering musky aromas of apple, mint and other herbs. Classically dry on the palate, showing personality and depth. Opens with air to reveal stone fruit and herbal flavors of impressive intensity. Long and subtle on the finish.
