2017 Tessier Pinot Noir "Filigreen Farm Vineyard"
Anderson Valley, California
Tessier is a tiny production (only 1400 cases annually) winemaking project of Kristie Tacey, focused on negociant-style bottlings from across California- all using sustainable farming and minimal intervention winemaking. Filligreen Farm is an incredible but little known vineyard with gnarly 72 year old vines farmed organically and biodynamically. This impeccably balanced Pinot is low in alcohol (13.2%) but medium bodied, with cranberry and cherry fruit with some savory rhubarb notes, all wrapped up with nervy acidity and medium tannins. 20% whole cluster, 100% neutral oak, all native fermentations.
93 points, Wine Enthusiast.
"Great balance, moderate fruit flavors and mild spices add up to a nervy, appetizing wine. Made from old vines farmed biodynamically, it shows cranberry and red-cherry aromas, slightly lean cherry and rhubarb flavors and a good structure of moderate tannins and taut acidity. Best now through 2025."
