2017 Conti Zecca Negroamaro 'Liranu'
Negroamaro, meaning “black and bitter,” is native to Puglia and rarely grown outside of it, being particularly well suited to hot temperatures, drought resistance and sandy soils. They are very deep in color, and rustic in character. You rarely see 100% varietal Negroamaro wines- there’s often some Malvasia or Sangiovese blended in.
Deep ruby-red. Typical negroamaro aromas of blackcurrant, underbrush and savory/herbal notes. Dense, thick and sweet but with integrated acidity framing the flavors of blackcurrant, tobacco and earth. The clean, long finish features smooth tannins.
