2016 Osvaldo Viberti Langhe Nascetta DOC
100% Nascetta (nah-SHET-ah). Brief cold soak before wine ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Aged in tank for 7-9 months before bottling. This unique white grape from Piedmont was long-forgotten and virtually extinct until re-discovered and rescued by a handful of dedicated producers. A wine of pure intrigue! Ideal for appetizers, vegetable dishes, white meat entrees, fish and cheeses. Aromatically complex and intense. Smoke, peach, nectarine and petrol are some of the many notes that flesh out in the glass. It is fairly rich in texture for a white wine, with tremendous depth and plenty of personality. Osvaldo Viberti is a young wine producer who has been running his family farm since 1993 with the initial guidance of his father, help of his wife Carla and their two children, Anna & Paolo. The family farm was passed down from grandparents Assunta and Tistin. The farm, once again is not a large one, with about 10 estate hectares planted with vineyards and cultivating, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, and Nascetta.
