2016 Osvaldo Viberti Barbera d'Alba Superiore “Mancine" DOCG
A riserva Barbera from 60 year old vineyards crafted by a small, family owned and operated estate. This is aged for one year in used French oak barrels, and is a very nice step up from your typical Barbera. It will do well with all sorts of red sauced pastas, chicken, pizza, burgers and more. Layered with notes of dark cherry, pomegranate, blackberry, faint spice, raspberry, tar, with a juicy finish and medium tannins. Osvaldo Viberti is a young wine producer who has been running his family farm since 1993 with the initial guidance of his father, help of his wife Carla and their two children, Anna & Paolo. The family farm was passed down from grandparents Assunta and Tistin. The farm, once again is not a large one, with about 10 estate hectares planted with vineyards and cultivating, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, and Nascetta.
