2015 La Ca’ Növa Barbaresco DOCG
Rose petal, sweet red berry, mint and pine add an appealing upper register. The delineation and translucency of the flavors is striking. This is pure class.
100% organic Nebbiolo. Entirely hand-harvested from different vineyards in the DOCG area at 270-290 meters above sea level. 18-20 day fermentation in stainless steel tank with pumping over 2-4 times a day. Aged 16 months in 3000L oak casks, then aged 10 months in bottle. Full-bodied, intense fruit with black cherry notes, nice ripe tannins and good length.
91 points, Antonio Galloni. "La Ca' Nova's 2015 Barbaresco is wonderfully open-knit and inviting. Sweet red cherry, kirsch, mint, spice and white pepper make a strong opening statement. The 2015 is a very pretty, easygoing wine. In other words, exactly what an entry-level Barbaresco should be. The ripeness of the year comes through in the wine's racy personality and slightly candied profile. There is so much to like, including the wine's undeniable appeal. The straight Barbaresco is a blend of fruit from Montefico, Montestefano, Ovello and Cole."
