2014 Château La Pointe Pomerol 'Ballade de la Pointe'

Chateau La Pointe, which is the third largest property in the Pomerol appellation with 23 hectares of vines. In 2007, Eric Monneret, who had been in charge of Chateau Raymond Lafon in Sauternes was named the new director. and Hubert de Bouard, the owner of Chateau Angelus in St. Emilion, was hired to consult and help manage. The 23 hectare vineyard is planted to 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. Average age of vines is 35 years. Fermentation takes place is stainless steel. The wine is then aged in French oak, new new for approximately 12 months. A juicy wine, it offers plenty of succulent fruit in an open-knit style. Sweet dark cherries, spices, mint, cedar and new leather wrap around the creamy, super-expressive finish.
