2014 Château Mazeyres Pomerol
Bordeaux, Fran e
Aged in barrels for 14 months, the 2014 Chateau Mazeyres is 72% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot. This righ-bank Pomerol has aromas of red fruit, blackberry, raspberry and tobacco. The palate shows cedar and pepper with generous red berry and fine-grained tannins. This is a well-balanced, silky wine that will evolve beautifully over the next five to eight years. Enjoy with steak, roast chicken, duck or lamb chops.
95 points, Decanter Magazine. "Like Fonroque, winemaking and viticulture is managed by Alain Moueix. Very expressive ripe berry aromas, pure fruit and crystalline tannins. A classical, nuanced vintage that tails off into silky bliss, providing real refreshment as a good claret should."
