2010 Château le Borderon Haut-Medoc 1.5L Magnum
This cuvée is produced by Château Larrivaux, owned by the same family for three centuries! It is managed by Bérengère, wife of Basile Tesseron, owner of the renowned Château Lafon-Rochet. Located not far from the border with Saint-Estèphe, the domaine benefits from a high quality soil of clay and gravel and a zone with more limestone . Merlot is predominant, which diffrentiates this Haut-Médoc wine compared to its neighbors. Planted in 1861, the vineyard covers twenty hectares today. The brilliant oenologist Eric Boissenot is consultant. With 60% Merlot, 26% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot, like Larrivaux, the wines of Le Borderon display both a supple structure and rich aromas of blackcurrant and liquorice.
